2013 Spring Training Conference
Recap
Scott Potter retired from Dow Agri Sciences in Dec. 2012
after 39.6 years of serving the entire green industry.
Scott is a Kansas State grad and consulted to turf and
ornamental managers helping them develop effective
programs in the green industry for 25 years. He had
sales & field marketing responsibility for his territory
which included seven states in the upper Midwest
including Colorado and Wyoming for 20 years. He has
chosen Lake Saint Louis, MO as his permanent residence
with his wife Patty and works on his hobbies which
include boating, taking care of three dogs, and spoiling
one very lucky granddaughter. He will continue to
contract with Dow to provide sales training to new reps
in eastern and western sales districts. Congrats Scott
for receiving the Golden Gun Award from Brad Weisensee,
CALCP president, at the Spring Training Conference.

Anniversary Cake
CALCP celebrated 25 years of sponsoring the Spring
Training Conference by serving cake to all attendees on
Tuesday, March 5.
Past
Presidents & Golden Gun Recipients
Photo shows past presidents and past Golden Gun
recipients who attended the STC. (others were not in
attendance). From 1989 to 2000, the conference was held
at the Jefferson County fairgrounds, then it moved to
the Aurora Event Center for 3 years (2001-03). Then it
was moved to the Holiday Inn at Chambers & I-70 for
2004-2008 and has been at the current location of the
Ramada Plaza Hotel since 2009.
2012 Spring Training Conference
Recap
Record breaking
attendance of 347 lawn care professionals attended the
24th Annual Spring Training Conference on
March 6 & 7, 2012 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel with 25
great speakers. Ed and Eddie Reinhardt told their story
of a “Football Injury Comeback” and 23 exhibitors lined
the atrium during breaks and lunch for professionals to
see the latest in goods and services. Mock inspections
were held indoors with the Colorado Dept. of Ag
representatives instructing folks on what to expect in
an inspection.
